I’m sure you can relate to this one.

I was feeling sad about money, or lack of. I told you, you could relate.

And I’m walking through a grocery store buying some food when my cart runs over something. I stop and find a wadded up bill. It looked like a $5.00 bill. I picked it up, figuring ‘any port in the storm’. I opened it to find a $50.00 bill.  I wasn’t exactly sure what to do. Some would say pocket it, some would say give it up. I walked toward the cashier lines and watched to see if someone started missing his or her money. No one did. I did that for a while before I claimed the money. Good story, right? Well, there’s more.

Years later, I was in a restaurant having dinner with a friend, remembered the story and told it to him. The instant the story ended, he suddenly reached down beside his chair and picked up a folded $50. bill someone must have dropped on the floor. He begged me to reinvent the story to $500, but I say ‘you can’t always get what you want, but you get what you need.’
